New Delhi: There was an intense discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, in which Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made several important revelations while defending the government. He said that the three wings of the Indian Army - Army, Air Force and Navy - took coordinated action and forced Pakistan to kneel down. Singh clarified that on May 10, Pakistan's Chief of Military Operations (DGMO) himself called and requested India to stop the military action.

Fierce debate on Operation Sindoor in Parliament

The Defence Minister rejected all the allegations and stressed that India did not suspend the operation under any external pressure, but only after achieving its political and military goals. He warned that if Pakistan commits any misdeed in the future, Operation Sindoor will be restarted immediately.

When the opposition created a ruckus raising US President Donald Trump's claims that he brokered the India-Pakistan ceasefire, Rajnath Singh assured the House: "I have never lied knowingly in my political life." His statement prompted Speaker Om Birla to intervene.

Rajnath Singh gave a befitting reply

The defence minister held up the opposition to historical examples. He referred to the 1962 war and the 1971 victory and said the government was not asked about the army's losses at that time. He told the opposition: "You ask how many of our planes were shot down? You should ask how many enemy hideouts we destroyed!"

The debate proved that India will no longer take a soft stand on terrorism. Operation Sindoor has sent out the message that the country is now ready to destroy terrorists even across the border. This clear policy of the government reflects its determination towards the country's security.

Despite the opposition's persistent questions, Rajnath Singh fully justified the army's action and said that more than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation. He clarified that the aim of the operation was to deliver justice to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, and not to wage war. Thus, this discussion not only clarifies the government's strategy, but also outlines India's new military policy.
