New Delhi: Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi exchanged New Year greetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and discussed ways to further strengthen the India–Israel Strategic Partnership. The interaction took place during a phone call initiated by Mr. Netanyahu, who also briefed Mr. Modi on developments related to the Gaza Peace Plan.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), both leaders conveyed warm wishes for peace and prosperity to the people of India and Israel. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s consistent support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and durable peace in the region.

Sharing details on X, Prime Minister Modi described Mr. Netanyahu as a “friend” and said the leaders discussed ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the year ahead. They exchanged views on the regional situation and identified shared priorities rooted in democratic values, mutual trust, and a forward-looking vision.

The two leaders reiterated their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. They reaffirmed their shared resolve to fight terrorism with greater determination and continue close coordination on security-related matters.

The conversation followed an earlier call on December 10, when Mr. Netanyahu briefed Mr. Modi on the West Asia situation. A week later, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met the Israeli Prime Minister to discuss enhanced cooperation in technology, economy, connectivity, and security, expressing confidence that bilateral ties would grow from strength to strength.
