Cloudburst wreaks havoc in Gilgit-Baltistan
Islamabad: Nature's fury was seen in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Where a major accident occurred due to sudden floods after cloudburst on Monday. So far at least four tourists have died in this accident. Two were injured. At the same time 15 people have gone missing.

Administration engaged in relief and rescue work

Hundreds of stranded tourists were evacuated with the help of local people, and they were given shelter at temporary shelters.

Flood path spread up to seven kilometers
Dimer Superintendent of Police Abdul Hameed said that the flood destroyed an area of about seven kilometers. Many vehicles were washed away and it is feared that 20 to 30 people may be missing. Relief work is going on but rescue work is facing difficulties due to continuous falling of debris.
Apart from Dimer, floods also damaged houses, fields and roads in Ghizer district. Gamba Rescue Station has been put on high alert due to the possibility of flood in Skardu. Water in Bargi and Sadpara drains has entered the houses, due to which many properties and roads were destroyed.
Part of Karakoram Highway damaged, thousands of people stranded
At the same time, a part of the Karakoram Highway in the Pasu area near Gojal has been damaged, due to which thousands of people are stranded. This route is the only route connecting Pakistan to China. Khadim Hussain, director of the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Agency, said that the area has been experiencing record heat and humidity for the last six weeks, due to which cloudbursts and floods are increasing continuously. Due to the mountainous terrain, the devastation increases due to landslides and debris.
