New Delhi: The proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday is facing growing uncertainty amid questions over permissions, crowd management and possible police action.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who recently gained nationwide attention through social media campaigns, has announced that he will arrive in Delhi and stage a protest near Parliament Street.
The announcement has attracted support from several activists and youth groups, including social activist Sonam Wangchuk and former Delhi University Students’ Union president Ronak Khatri.

Ahead of the protest, Dipke released a video message on social media claiming that large numbers of young supporters were backing the movement.
At the same time, he appealed to supporters not to gather at Delhi airport, citing law and order concerns. According to his announced schedule, he plans to travel directly from the airport to Parliament Street Police Station and later proceed towards Jantar Mantar.
However, this announcement itself has triggered several questions regarding the planning and legal preparedness of the proposed protest.
One of the biggest concerns revolves around the absence of prior police permission for the protest.
Critics have questioned why the organisers did not apply for official approval in advance despite publicly announcing a large-scale gathering. Questions are also being raised over the role of CJP spokespersons and organisers, who could have coordinated with Delhi Police beforehand.
So far, there is no clear public information regarding the expected crowd size, timing, organisers, security arrangements or the exact structure of the demonstration.

The Parliament Street and Jantar Mantar area is considered highly sensitive due to its proximity to Parliament and key government buildings. Security agencies are reportedly assessing the possibility of large crowds gathering in the area even before formal permissions are granted.
Sources indicate that if police deny immediate permission for the protest or anticipate law-and-order concerns, authorities may place Dipke and other organisers under preventive detention to avoid congestion, disruption or security risks near Parliament.
Political observers say the protest has generated massive online attention, but its on-ground execution still lacks clarity.
Whether the demonstration proceeds as planned, receives official permission or faces restrictions from Delhi Police is expected to become clear only on Saturday.
