UP Budget Session: UP at forefront in crime against women, says Akhilesh Yadav; CM Yogi counters back

Lucknow: On the second day of Uttar Pradesh Assembly session, Samajwadi Party President and Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday lashed out at the Government over the rising crime againt women in the state.

Akhilesh said, "UP is at the top in crime against women. The graph of crimes is rising in the state non stop....The police administration is carrying out atrocities against innocent people on frivolous grounds."

Leader of Opposition Akhilesh said that the government has lost its sensitivity....A family in Allahabad was completely finished. Sometimes innocents are tortured on false allegations. But people know the whole truth. Akhilesh asked whether the government had the courage to accept it?

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minitser Yogi Adityanath countered Akhilesh Yadav in equally strong words. He said, "Our Government is quite serious in dealing with crimes especially crime against women."

He said the BJP government is dealing strictly against the criminals as compared to the previous governments in the state. The former governments gave protection to crimes and criminals.

CM Yogi said that the government is always ready for discussion about development of the state, the interests of the poor, farmers, youth and women. 

Earlier, there was discussion on the Governor's address in the House.
