A family in Tuljapur claims powerful villagers fenced off their legally registered land, even while the case is in court. They’ve approached the DM- what will authorities do next to stop this illegal takeover?
Mainpuri: A land dispute in Tuljapur village, under Bhogaon police station, has escalated as a local family approached the District Magistrate (DM) to seek intervention. Jagarani, wife of Munnalal, submitted a written complaint to the DM of Mainpuri, alleging that some influential villagers, in collusion with revenue officials, were illegally occupying their land.
In her complaint, Jagarani stated that on December 27, 2022, she had officially registered a portion of a field in front of her house and its boundaries were formally demarcated. She claimed that despite this, local strongmen later encroached upon the land and illegally fenced it off with barbed wire.
The family said that although the matter is currently pending in court, the illegal actions by these individuals continue, causing distress to the family.
The incident highlights ongoing issues of land disputes and illegal encroachments in rural areas, where powerful local figures sometimes exploit administrative loopholes or alleged collusion with officials to seize property. Authorities have yet to comment on the complaint, and villagers are closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds.
