With Kawasaki announcement of a significant price reduction for the KLX 230 in India the already intriguing affordable off-road vehicles have taken on even more interest.

Since Kawasaki will produce the KLX 230 in India the Japanese manufacturer has been able to significantly reduce the motorcycles price. According to the manufacturer the motorcycle will keep all of its features that make it an excellent dual-sport vehicle including the same engine.
With a 21-18 wire-spoke wheel arrangement the Made in India Kawasaki KLX 230 will have monoshock suspension at the back and telescopic suspension at the front with travel capacities of about 240 and 250 mm. 265 mm is the ground clearance. The KLX 230 has a 7.6-liter fuel tank and disc brakes on both sides.

The single-cylinder air-cooled engine powers the Kawasaki KLX 230. The 6-speed gearbox is mated to a 233cc engine that generates 18 horsepower and 18 Nm of torque. Although the engine specs arent very clear the combination of the engine the KLX 230s 136 kg weight and the long travel suspension system makes it an extremely powerful off-road vehicle. Similar to the Kawasaki KLX 230 the Hero XPulse 210 competes in the Indian market.

In addition to having the same 21-18 wire spoke wheel setup a higher fender a sleeker design and disc brakes at both ends with dual channel ABS the XPulse 210 which retails for Rs 175 lakh ex-showroom also has a similar setup with long travel suspension at both ends that provides 210mm of travel at the front and 205mm at the rear.
