Justice Shree Chandrashekhar appointed as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court
Mumbai: The Central Government has issued an important notification today on Thurday and appointed Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as the new Chief Justice of Bombay High Court.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal shared this information on social media platform X.
He wrote, "In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Judge of the Bombay High Court as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court."

Justice Chandrashekhar was currently serving as the Acting Chief Justice in the Bombay High Court. He took over this responsibility after former Chief Justice Alok Aradhe was promoted to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the name of Justice Chandrashekhar in the meeting held on August 25, which was approved by the President.
Justice Chandrashekhar was born on 25 May 1965 and he completed his LLB in the year 1993 from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. Thereafter, on 9 December 1993, he was registered as an advocate with the Delhi State Bar Council. He practised criminal and civil cases in Delhi and argued about 3500 cases in his nearly 19 years of practice, most of which were in the Supreme Court.
