New Delhi: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh stirred a political controversy on Saturday by sharing a picture on social media. He shared an old photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which Modi is seen sitting on the floor. Digvijay described it as an example of the organizational strength of the RSS and BJP and wrote "Jai Siya Ram" with the photo.

An Example of Organizational Strength

In his post, Digvijay Singh wrote that he found this picture on the Quora website. He explained how an RSS worker and a Jan Sangh-BJP worker, who sat at the feet of leaders, eventually became the Chief Minister of a state and the Prime Minister of the country. Digvijay called it a great example of the power of organization and said that the real strength of any political party lies in its cadre and strong organization.

Clarification: Opposition to Modi and RSS Continues

After this post, a discussion began about whether Digvijay had praised Modi and the RSS. Digvijay clarified, "I have not praised Modi and the RSS; I have only talked about the strength of the organization. I am a staunch opponent of them and will remain so. Strengthening the organization is not a bad thing."

He said that whatever he had to say, he had already said it in the CWC meeting. He maintained that strengthening the organization is essential for a political party.

Need for Organizational Reforms in Congress

In his second post, Digvijay Singh emphasized the need for organizational reforms within the Congress. Tagging Rahul Gandhi, he wrote that his approach to social and economic issues is accurate, but now it is necessary to focus on the Congress organization.

Digvijay stated that the party needs to be run in a more practical and decentralized manner. He expressed confidence that Rahul Gandhi can do this. According to him, just as reforms are needed in the Election Commission, structural changes are also necessary in the Congress.

BJP Spokesperson's Reaction

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi reacted to this. He said that in the BJP's working style, it has been observed that any grassroots leader can reach the top leadership based on their talent. He took a jibe at Digvijay Singh's comment, saying that perhaps he has now understood that Narendra Modi is a "man of humble origins" and Rahul Gandhi is a "son of privilege."

Sudhanshu further added that it's not just Digvijay Singh who has questioned Rahul Gandhi's understanding, but former US President Barack Obama also did, yet Rahul is still invited to universities in America.
