New Delhi: The monsoon has again picked up pace in the country, and its impact is felt in nearly all regions of the country. The rain goes from north to south and from east to west, because of which the weather has become pleasant, but with that, the routine life of the people is also getting impacted. There have been heavy rains in most states over the past 24 hours, and this has impacted life immensely.

Delhi-NCR has been experiencing continuous rain since Friday evening, because of which numerous areas have gotten waterlogged. The roads have been waterlogged, because of which the speed of traffic has been stopped, and in some areas even the homes have been flooded with water. According to the Meteorological Department, it is likely to rain in Delhi for several days to come.

The scenario in Mumbai is more alarming. Because of incessant rains from Thursday, waterlogging and traffic congestion have been witnessed in numerous pockets. Local train services have been disrupted, and air travel has also been disturbed due to poor visibility. The administration has urged the populace to remain indoors except if very essential. The Meteorological Department has also raised an orange alert for Saturday, which is an indication of severe weather.

South and East Indian states such as Karnataka, Kerala, and Vidarbha have experienced heavy rains, while Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gangetic West Bengal have seen moderate to heavy rains. There are light rains due in Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh over the next 24 hours.

The government has instructed the public to be cautious and take steps, as issues such as floods and waterlogging could occur because of persistent rains. In such situations, individuals must stay at home and give heed to warnings from the Meteorological Department.

On the whole, the monsoon has begun to make its fullest impact throughout the nation. While it has, on the one hand, given people respite from heat, on the other hand, there are enormous problems in a lot of areas for people. The situation can be more serious in the days to come; hence, alertness is highly necessary.
