New Delhi: The weather in Delhi-NCR is rapidly changing these days. Early morning hours reveal a light haze, but as the day progresses, the fog virtually vanishes.

However, smog and pollution particles remain in the atmosphere throughout the day, affecting visibility. Drivers are facing difficulty seeing ahead, especially during the morning and late evening. Airborne pollutants are also causing respiratory problems and eye irritation.

Current Situation and Opinion of Meteorologists

According to meteorologist Dr. Mahesh Palawat, the storm that formed in the South China Sea has now moved towards Taiwan, so it will not have any direct impact on India. However, cold winds are currently blowing from North India to Central and Eastern India.

Due to these winds, temperatures are gradually falling. Cold is expected to increase in many states of North India in the coming days.

Cold Wave Threatens North India

Dr. Palawat stated that cold wave-like conditions may develop in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The continuous drop in temperatures is causing chills in the morning and night. Meanwhile, light rain is also expected in some parts of Delhi-NCR after November 15th. This rain may reduce pollution levels to some extent.

Wind Speed and Temperature Trend

According to Dr. R.K. Jenamani, a senior scientist at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), wind speeds of up to 19 kilometers per hour were recorded in Delhi-NCR over the past 24 hours. Winds sometimes blow strongly and sometimes slow down suddenly. This variability is also affecting air quality.
