Before INDIA bloc leaders began their march to the Election Commission of India, they gathered at the Makar Dwar of the Parliament and sang the National Anthem.

In order to keep the peace and avoid any untoward incidents during the INDIA bloc protest march, Delhi police deployed personnel and erected barricades at various points along the route. To guarantee efficient traffic flow more security cars and quick response teams were also positioned near the EC office and the nearby roads.

A senior police officer said 'No one has sought permission for the protest march. Barricades have been erected at several places along the route. Police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident. Additional security vehicles and quick response teams have also been deployed at the Election Commission office and nearby roads to ensure smooth traffic movement.'

Days have passed since Rahul Gandhi's press conference last Thursday during which he offered what he called an atom bomb of evidence against the poll bodys use of vote chori. Rahul Gandhi specifically mentioned irregularities in states such as Karnataka and Maharashtra.

He mentioned anomalies such as thousands of phony voters one crore mystery voters CCTV footage being destroyed and the EC refusing to share voter-related data.

The opposition says the Election Commission is colluding with the BJP. It also says that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar is doing more harm than good to the voters. Lakhs of voters have been disenfranchised in the state due to SIR. The Opposition has been demanding a discussion on the issue in the House.
