The Supreme Court's order had removed Justice Prashant Kumar from hearing criminal cases without citing any clear reason. This move has sparked widespread discussion in judicial circles and is being seen as linked to the High Court's functional independence.
This development not only raises questions about the boundaries of authority between the Supreme Court and the High Court but also provides a glimpse of institutional dialogue and dissent within the judiciary.
According to information obtained by Dynamite News, the Allahabad High Court judges who signed the letter include Justices Arindam Sinha, Shekhar Saraf, Gautam Chaudhary, Saurabh Srivastava, Kshitij Shailendra, Krishna Pahal, Manoj Bajaj, and Donadi Ramesh.
In another development, the same matter is listed for hearing before a Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Pardiwala and Mahadevan on Friday.
It remains to be seen how this matter unfolds. Will this lead to a major dispute between the Supreme Court and the Allahabad High Court?
