Maharajganj: Former Nautanwa MLA Aman Mani Tripathi met Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, triggering fresh political speculation in the district ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Sources informed Dynamite News that the meeting focused on local development issues and possible electoral strategies. However, it has also led to discussions within political circles about whether Aman Mani is exploring an entry into the BJP or if the interaction was merely routine.

Aman Mani, who was elected as an Independent MLA from Nautanwa in 2017, later contested the 2022 Assembly elections on a BSP ticket but finished third. He subsequently joined the Congress and remained politically active during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He is the son of former Uttar Pradesh minister Amar Mani Tripathi.

Focus on Pharenda and Nautanwa Seats

The development has intensified speculation around the Pharenda and Nautanwa Assembly constituencies. If Aman Mani joins the BJP and is fielded from Pharenda, it could impact the prospects of former MLA Bajrang Bahadur Singh, a three-time winner from the seat who remains active in the party.

In Nautanwa, Aman Mani is considered to have a strong base due to his previous electoral victory and the influence of the Tripathi family. However, the seat is currently held by Rishi Tripathi of the BJP alliance, whose position is seen as strong given his status as the sitting MLA.

Political Equations Remain Unclear

The political contest in both constituencies remains complex. In the 2022 elections, Pharenda witnessed a close contest, with BJP candidate Bajrangi Singh losing narrowly to Congress leader Virendra Chaudhary. In Nautanwa, Aman Mani finished third, indicating a shift in voter dynamics.

Uncertainty Over Next Move

There is growing speculation over whether Aman Mani will contest again from Nautanwa or shift to Pharenda. Some local discussions also suggest the possibility of his family fielding another candidate from one of the seats.

However, no official announcement has been made regarding his political future or party alignment, keeping the political landscape in Maharajganj fluid and closely watched.
