Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has achieved a major success. Abhishek alias Pradyuman Yadav, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, wanted in a case registered at Raniganj police station in Pratapgarh district, was arrested in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The accused had been absconding since a shootout over a land dispute.
The STF Lucknow team received information that the wanted criminal Abhishek alias Pradyuman Yadav, resident of village Jariyari, Raniganj police station, Pratapgarh, was hiding in Navi Mumbai. Acting on this information, the team, led by Sub-Inspector Rahul Parmar, raided the area near Rawale intersection in the Ghansoli area of Navi Mumbai at around 1 am on 22 September and arrested him.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that he had a long-standing land dispute with Ambris Yadav, Alok Singh, Shakti Singh, and others from the village. Due to this dispute, on July 24 he and his associates arrived to take possession of the land.
During the altercation, brick-pelting and firing occurred, injuring Lalita Devi and Geeta. Following this incident, a case was registered against him and he fled to Mumbai.

Abhishek alias Pradyuman has several previous cases registered against him, including those related to the Epidemic and Disaster Management Act, assault, firing, and the Arms Act.

FIR No. 252/2025 – Sections 109(1)/3(5) BNS, 25/27/3 Arms Act 1959.
Following his arrest, the accused was brought to Pratapgarh. The local police lodged him at the Raniganj police station and initiated further legal proceedings.
