New Delhi: The horror-comedy film Bhoot Bangla has made a resounding start at the box office right from its release. In just 8 days, the film has raked in ₹90.15 crore—a significant achievement in its own right.

Notably, this Akshay Kumar starrer earned ₹84.40 crore in its very first week alone, making it evident that the audience is thoroughly enjoying the film.

Bhoot Bangla continues to maintain strong earnings on its 9th day as well. By 4:30 PM, the film had already collected ₹4.63 crore.

On this day, the film was allotted approximately 5,220 shows and recorded an occupancy rate of roughly 18%. This indicates that the film still retains a firm hold on the audience.

The Slowing Pace of Dhurandhar 2

On the other hand, Dhurandhar 2 is now in its 38th day, and its earnings are gradually declining.

Compared to its 9th day, the film had earned only ₹1.62 crore by the afternoon of its 38th day. However, a slight uptick in earnings was observed on Saturday compared to Friday.

The film was allotted 1,672 shows and recorded an occupancy rate of 21%, suggesting that it still retains a demand among a niche audience segment.

A Fierce Box Office Clash

Although Dhurandhar 2 had already established a strong foothold at the box office and broken several records, the arrival of Bhoot Bangla has immediately begun to impact its earnings.

Bhoot Bangla is currently benefiting from the advantage of being a new release, whereas Dhurandhar 2 is now entering the final phase of its theatrical run.

Star Cast and Release Highlights

Bhoot Bangla was released on April 17, featuring Akshay Kumar alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. Additionally, the film boasts a stellar supporting cast comprising veteran actors such as Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav. Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ was released on March 19th, coinciding with Eid, and initially delivered a spectacular performance at the box office.

All in all, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has emerged as a new and formidable contender at the box office. While the momentum of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is now slowing down, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is giving it stiff competition by consistently raking in earnings.
