Ahmedabad: A London-bound Air India plane with 242 on board crashed during takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport here in Ahmedabad on Thursday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Plane Crash: Details

In Ahmedabad, a horrific aircraft accident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, 12 June, in which Air India's Boeing 787 passenger plane crashed. Dreaded pictures of the accident have been revealed, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

In the Meghaninagar area, the strong flames and black smoke were watched from afar. The aircraft had 242 passengers, and all are feared to be killed.

According to preliminary information, the accident happened near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. It is being told that the aircraft crashed near the airport boundary. In the pictures that have come out, it is clear that the aircraft has been completely laminated. Relief and rescue operations are running fast.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Air India’s Boeing 787 aircraft, registration VT-ANB, operating flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. There were 242 people on board, including 2 pilots and 10 cabin crew members.

The flight was commanded by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, with First Officer Clive Kundar as co-pilot.
