Nepal Army rescues 12 trekkers from Langtang
Kathmandu: The Nepal Army on Monday safely rescued 12 climbers stranded in the Langtang region due to incessant rain and landslides.
According to the Nepal Army's Public Relations Directorate, all 12 individuals have been brought to Syaphrubesi in Rasuwa district. However, four are missing after being swept away by the Berang Khola River and have not been found.
Four climbers missing
According to reports, a group of 16 people had set out on a trek from Kathmandu to the Langtang National Park area. Four climbers, Sanskriti Shrestha (26), Kishan Shrestha (25), Sanita Shrestha (26), and Ravi Shrestha (23), went missing after being swept away by a fast-flowing waterfall following incessant rain on Saturday. Three of them are members of the same family and all hail from Bhaktapur district.

Pregnant Women Rescued
Search and rescue operations are underway by a joint team of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force. Furthermore, the Nepal Army rescued four pregnant women trapped due to rain and road blockages in Ilam district using helicopters and admitted them to nearby hospitals.
More than 50 dead
At least 46 people have died across the country on Saturday and Sunday due to floods, landslides, and other natural disasters. Six people died in a road accident in Panchthar district on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 52. Meanwhile, life is gradually returning to normal in the Kathmandu Valley as the weather improves. Rainfall in the capital has completely stopped on Monday.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, most roads are now open and the movement of people in markets has increased. According to the Meteorological Department, skies will be mostly cloudy in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim regions on Monday, while other regions will experience partly cloudy skies. Moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in some hilly and lowland areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim regions by Monday evening.
