Before the start of the session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to reporters in the Parliament complex and delivered a direct message to the opposition, saying that this session of Parliament is not merely a formality, but an opportunity to accelerate the country's progress. He expressed hope that this session will infuse new energy into nation-building.

Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on the opposition, saying that Parliament should not be made a platform for drama and sloganeering.
He said, "There are many places in the country for drama, but in Parliament, there should be delivery, not drama. If you want to shout slogans, the entire country is there, but here the emphasis should be on policy."
He warned that negative politics is not in the national interest and should be limited to electoral strategies, not hinder the functioning of the House.
PM Modi said that negativity may sometimes be useful in politics, but positive thinking is essential for nation-building. He said that the opposition should reconsider its strategies, as the country has not accepted this approach for the last ten years.
Describing the GST reforms as "next-gen reforms," the Prime Minister said that they have created an atmosphere of trust in the country's economic system, and that many important steps will be taken in this direction.
He also congratulated the new Speaker and expressed hope that the Upper House will function effectively under his guidance.

PM Modi alleged that some opposition parties, fearing anti-incumbency in their respective states, are using Parliament as a medium to vent their anger. He said, "Some parties have started a new tradition of venting their anger over defeat in Parliament, but the country is not accepting it."
He also suggested that he is willing to give them "tips" for better performance, but the tendency to suppress the voices of MPs should be stopped.
