Gorakhpur: As the festival of Raksha Bandhan approaches hundreds of students along with their teachers from Mount Eddy Public School Dodo and Naval Academy Unwal went to the Khajani police station to tie rakhis to the police and give them Raksha Bandhan presents.
The rangoli and catchy songs that the female students composed added to the festive mood. Station House Officer Anoop Singh gave the school family his personal number and guaranteed the students safety.
In addition to being a religious and familial holiday Raksha Bandhan also represents social cohesion and safety. A broader social trust is formed when sisters give their protectors rakhi.
